Job summary

Dufrene Building Materials Inc. is seeking an Experienced CDL Driver with Navigator and Moffit experience for our Thibodaux location.

You will deliver lumber, building materials, millworks and other merchandise to customers on-site and at other company locations in a fast-paced environment. Key duties include planning efficient routes, loading and delivering parcels, obtaining signatures, maintaining mileage logs, and coordinating basic vehicle maintenance.

Qualifications

• Must hold an active CDL license with a valid medical card.
• Ability to drive safely and follow routes using GPS or maps.
• Capable of planning efficient delivery routes and maintaining logs.
• Professional conduct and ability to follow instructions with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Plans and completes an efficient delivery and pick up route for the day.
• Loads delivery vehicle with parcels scheduled for delivery.
• Delivers parcels to correct addresses, obtaining signatures and proof of receipt when necessary.
• Picks up parcels along the scheduled route, including items to be returned, company orders, and other items as requested.
• Maintains basic records of truck mileage and deliveries made.
• Ensures that delivery vehicle receives basic service according to maintenance schedule; reports larger service needs and mechanical issues to supervisor.
• Assists in general warehouse duties when delivery route is completed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills / Abilities

Education and Experience

Valid CDL driver’s license, current medical card and clean driving record.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.


• Must be able to load and unload packages with and without dollies in various types of weather.
