Job summary

Composites One is seeking a CDL Driver / Warehouse Team Member to accurately receive, store, and ship materials while supporting production processes. You will also move semi-trailers within the parking lot and occasionally drive routes as needed, ensuring DOT and safety compliance.

You will maintain inventory, prepare shipments, perform cycle counts, and collaborate with drivers to ensure timely deliveries.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Receive, unload and process inbound material and shipments; stock material.
  • Perform warehouse duties (picking, labeling, inventory checks) and cycle counts.
  • Maintain safe, clean working environment and proper shipping/receiving records.
  • Coordinate with drivers for loading, delivery, and routing.
  • Drive DOT-compliant transport of hazardous and non-hazardous materials when needed.

Job description

Position Overview

As a CDL Driver / Warehouse Team Member, you will be responsible for the accurate receipt, storage, shipment, and production process of materials according to all established company and regulatory policies and procedures. You will also be responsible for moving semi‑trailers within our parking lot and occasionally driving routes on an as‑needed basis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure accurate and timely receipt and shipping of all materials following FIFO and potential freight claim or back‑order procedures while supporting all freight and safety policies.
  • Receive, unload and process inbound material and shipments; stock material, process customer returns and notify management of damaged shipments.
  • Perform a variety of warehouse duties such as pull/assemble customer orders, check outbound orders for accuracy/completeness, inventory stock checks, restock and label vendor product; move, store and replenish material, and conduct daily cycle counts.
  • Maintain a safe, clean working environment.
  • Accurately maintain shipping and receiving related information.
  • Communicate potential stockouts, damaged material/packaging or labeling to appropriate staff in a timely manner.
  • Partner with Drivers to ensure efficient loading and delivery of shipments.
  • When driving, accurately and professionally transport and deliver hazardous and non‑hazardous materials in a safe, compliant, timely and courteous manner.
  • Act as liaison between internal and external customers to provide stellar service and build long‑term relationships.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and provide a positive company image to the public; wear the Composites One uniform with pride.
  • Understand and comply with applicable DOT, EPA, OSHA and specific HSE requirements, including the Driver Manual.
  • Actively participate in and support company safety culture.
  • Maintain and operate Composites One equipment in a fiscally responsible and compliant manner.
Expected Skills and Qualifications
  • Must be at least 25 years of age.
  • A minimum of 3 years related experience in the operation of tractor/trailer equipment.
  • Current Class A CDL driver's license with the following endorsements: general knowledge, air brakes, and combination vehicle.
  • Knowledge and understanding of OSHA requirements, safety awareness and hazardous material shipping.
  • Ability to pass all of the DOT driver qualification standards.
  • No serious traffic violations in the last 3 years, including never being convicted of reckless/careless driving, driving while intoxicated or under the influence of drugs, hit and run, leaving the scene of an accident or failure to report an accident, excessive speeding 20 MPH or more over the posted limits.
  • Ability to learn internal database and software systems; proficient with near‑miss and MSDS, UPS, FedEx and dedicated logistics systems.
  • Effectively communicate cross‑functionally.
  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • Travel: as assigned.
Additional Preferred Skills and Qualifications
  • Forklift certification.
  • Experience with transporting hazardous material.
Physical Requirements for a CDL Driver / Warehouse Team Member
  • Moderate to heavy physical activity; ability to independently lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to walk and/or stand for the entire length of shift; regularly required to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, or crawl; may be required to sometimes sit, climb, or balance.
  • Ability to reach, grasp, push and pull with hands and arms.
  • Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus; hand‑eye coordination.
  • May be exposed to a wide range of temperatures.
  • The noise level is moderate to loud.
Pre-Employment Requirement

Employment offers are contingent upon successful completion of a DOT physical, drug screen, and background check.

Hourly salary range: $30.00–$33.00. Actual pay will be determined based on location, experience, skills and qualifications. In addition to the base salary, employees may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package.
