As a licensed general contractor, we offer unparalleled expertise to restore stability where it’s needed most.

What We Are Looking For

We are seeking a CDL Class A Driver with experience operating walking floor trucks to support disaster response and debris hauling operations. This role is responsible for transporting high volumes of storm‑related debris, vegetation, sediment, and construction materials efficiently and safely.

This position is part of field operations and does not typically manage personnel. Success includes demonstrating safe and reliable operation of walking floor equipment, maintaining consistent production in hauling operations, and contributing to timely project completion in fast‑paced environments.

What You Will Do
  • Operate walking floor trucks to transport debris, vegetation, sediment, and construction materials.
  • Load, secure, and unload materials using walking floor systems safely and efficiently.
  • Support disaster response efforts by maintaining continuous hauling cycles to keep sites clear and productive.
  • Perform pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections to ensure equipment safety and compliance.
  • Maintain accurate driver logs, load tickets, and compliance documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and company safety standards.
  • Coordinate with field teams and dispatch to meet operational timelines.
  • Monitor truck performance and report maintenance issues.
  • Adapt to changing project needs, schedules, and locations.
  • Assist with general site operations when needed to support overall success.
Required Qualifications
  • Valid CDL Class A license required.
  • 2+ years of commercial driving experience, including walking floor or similar hauling equipment.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and safety compliance.
  • Proven ability to safely secure and transport loads.
  • Ability to work in outdoor, physically demanding environments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in debris hauling, waste management, or disaster recovery operations.
  • Experience working on construction or emergency response job sites.
  • OSHA certification (10‑hour or 30‑hour).
  • Familiarity with heavy equipment and job site operations.
What to Expect

This role operates in fast‑paced disaster recovery environments where work conditions and priorities can change quickly. Drivers should expect long hours, travel, and outdoor work in varying weather conditions. Assignments may require temporary relocation depending on project needs.

You will be part of a mission‑driven team focused on clearing debris and restoring communities after disasters. The work is physically demanding and time‑sensitive, requiring strong safety awareness, adaptability, and teamwork.

Physical Requirements and Environment
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Specific vision abilities to include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Willing to wear PPE including hard hats, protective eyewear, steel‑toed boots, and high‑visibility gear.
  • Ability to work in adverse weather/field conditions, including extreme temperatures, dust, noise and uneven terrain.
  • Ability to climb in and out of trucks and operate equipment for extended periods.
  • Commitment to following safety standards and protocols.
  • Ceres provides reasonable accommodations to qualified individuals with disabilities and to applicants with sincerely held religious beliefs, as required by law.
