Job summary

Roberts Hawaii is seeking a Safety Trainer to educate Drivers and Aides across all island locations. The role ensures DOT/CDL-B training with Passenger Endorsement and safety program delivery, including performance evaluations and daily DOT reports.

The Trainer develops classroom materials, administers tests, conducts CPR/First Aid and Defensive Driving training, and coordinates with multiple departments to uphold safety and service standards.

Qualifications

• 4-10 years related experience and/or training.
• Valid Type 3 Driver’s License; CDL B with P and S endorsements within 3 months.
• Must be able to work varying shifts including weekends and holidays.
• Working knowledge of island history, streets, and hotel locations.
• Ability to read and interpret safety documents and manuals.
• Effective verbal communication and public speaking.
• Proficient in routine report writing and data entry.
• Strong math skills for basic calculations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare classroom/office for daily training.
• Create training materials (handouts, tests, videos).
• Administer tests and daily training agendas.
• Produce company IDs for new/replacement employees.
• Lead Defensive Driving and CPR/AED/First Aid training.
• Conduct driver surveillance and DOT compliance checks.
• Evaluate driver performance across divisions.
• Train Customer Service and Tour classes.
• Conduct field observations and remedial training sessions.
• Lead monthly tailgate meetings and road evaluations.
• Train in all safety department courses and cross-train with other departments.
