Ancora Education is seeking a CDL Driver Trainer to lead truck driver training at our Middletown location. The role requires instructing students across driving, inspection, and safety topics, with travel to assist other VA locations as needed.

The position emphasizes classroom and on-road instruction, safety compliance, and ongoing student evaluation. A valid CDL, on-the-road experience, and DOT requirements are essential.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL with appropriate class level for the role.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• 3 years of verifiable on-the-road experience within the last 5 years.
• MVR and background check, including a drug screen.
• Ability to pass the road test.
• DOT physical and DOT drug screen required.
• Maintain a valid Medical Examiner Certificate and DOT drug tests as required.

Responsibilities

• Promotes and maintains a positive learning environment.
• Convenes all assigned classes on schedule.
• Trains students in trucking/driving across scenarios and inspections.
• Administers written tests and evaluates grades.
• Conducts pre-trip inspections of commercial motor vehicles; instructs air-brake tests and backing maneuvers.
• Instructs shifting patterns and maintains vehicle equipment knowledge.
