Job summary

Ancora Education is seeking a CDL Driver Trainer to deliver comprehensive truck driver training at Virginia Peninsula CC in Hampton, VA. The role combines classroom instruction with hands-on road training, overseeing student progress and safety.

The successful candidate will have a valid CDL, 3 years of on-the-road experience, and the ability to meet DOT requirements including medical and drug screening. This full-time, hourly position supports a dynamic CDL program.

Qualifications

• CDL required with appropriate class level per position.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• 3 years of verifiable on-the-road experience in last 5 years.
• MVR and background check including drug screening.
• Ability to pass DOT physical and DOT drug tests.
• Must maintain valid DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Promotes and maintains a positive learning environment.
• Convenes all assigned classes per start/end times.
• Train students in trucking/driving and administer tests.
• Conduct pre-trip inspections and air-brake tests.
• Instruct backing and parking maneuvers and CDL driving essentials.
• Maintain records of student progress and attendance.
