Qualifications

• CDL required with proper class level
• High School Diploma or GED
• 3 years verifiable on-the-road experience within last 5 years
• MVR and background check including drug screening
• Ability to pass road test
• DOT physical and DOT drug screen required
• Maintain valid Medical Examiner Certificate and pass DOT drug tests
• Knowledge of pre-trip inspections, air-brake tests, and CDL driving basics
• Motivation, dedication, professionalism, integrity, and enthusiasm for teaching

Responsibilities

• Promotes and maintains a positive learning environment
• Convenes all assigned classes per their start and end times
• Maintains a safe environment for all students and staff
• Safeguards materials, records, and equipment
• Abides by all Federal, state, and accreditation/compliance rules and regulations
• Serves as a professional role model to students
• Inspires student confidence in program, faculty, and self
• Delivers Instructional Material
• Train students in trucking/driving
• Administer written tests on classroom material and evaluate grades
• Conduct pre-trip inspections of commercial motor vehicles
• Instruct air-brake tests
• Instruct straight-line backing
• Instruct offset backing, right and left
• Instruct 45-degree alley-docking
• Instruct parallel parking, conventional side, and driver side
• Utilizes required skills assessments to evaluate student progress
• Ability to stand and walk for 8-10 hours outside
• Experience and Education Required
• Knowledge of and demonstrated ability to maintain vehicle equipment
