Ancora Education is seeking an experienced CDL Driver Trainer to lead the classroom and behind-the-wheel instruction for our CDL training program at Chattanooga, TN. The role supports cohorts across a structured schedule within an Ancora Training contracted company, with travel possible between locations as enrollments require.

The position emphasizes safety, professional instruction, and adherence to regulatory standards while preparing students for the Commercial Driver’s License and career

Qualifications

• Valid CDL with required class level.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• 3 years of verifiable on-the-road experience within the last 5 years.
• DOT physical and DOT drug screen required.
• Willingness to travel to other locations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Promotes and maintains a positive learning environment.
• Maintains knowledge of policies and enforces them.
• Convenes assigned classes at start and end times.
• Maintains a safe environment for students and staff.
• Safeguards materials, records, and equipment.
• Follows Federal, state, and compliance rules.
• Acts as a professional role model to students.
• Inspires student confidence in the program and faculty.
• Delivers instructional material on trucking and driving topics.
• Administers written tests and evaluates grades.
• Conducts pre-trip inspections of CMVs and teaches air-brake tests.
• Instructs backing maneuvers and docking procedures.
• Utilizes effective delivery skills and relates material to experiences.
• Assesses student progress using required skill assessments.
