Job summary

Heartland Coca-Cola Bottling Company is offering a Driver in Training position to help you obtain a Commercial Driver License through the Heartland CDL Training Program. Upon completion, placement into a CDL Driver role will be provided.

The program includes training in driver handheld usage, customer service, and safety, with a plan to sleeve graduates into a CDL position after successful completion. The role is on-site with pay, and requires adherence to background checks and DOT requirements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of one year of work experience required.
• Prior retail customer service experience preferred.
• Prior merchandising or warehouse order builder experience preferred.
• Meet admission guidelines for the Heartland Program.
• Must be at least 21 years of age and legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Possess a valid driver’s license with a driving record within MVR guidelines.
• Must have completed applicable knowledge testing and hold a Commercial Learner's Permit (CLP) prior to entering the Heartland Driver Training Program.
• Satisfactorily complete all background checks including criminal record check, DOT drug/alcohol testing, DOT physical, and MVR check.
• PIT certification obtainable upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Attend driver training program.
• Complete program satisfactorily and obtain CDL.
• Complete company-specific content training (outlet training, handheld usage, customer service, safety).
• Maintain employment for two years after program.
• Assist in merchandising or distribution/warehouse when not in training.
