Job summary

Alter Trading is seeking a yard/truck operator to pick up steel-sided flat bed or roll-off containers within a defined area. You will drive loaded loads to customers or Alter, and move scrap material around the yard while following strict safety standards.

This role requires a Class A or Class B CDL, 1–3 years of verifiable experience, and physical ability to lift substantial weights. PPE must be worn and care for ferrous/non-ferrous material handling emphasized.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Must have Class A CDL or Class B CDL (for straight truck) license and minimum 1-3 years verifiable experience.
• Candidate must be able to lift a minimum of 30-50 lbs. and 100+lbs on 2-person lift.
• General knowledge of difference between ferrous and non-ferrous material preferred and equipment experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate a truck picking up steel sided flat bed or roll-off containers within specified area.
• Wait to be loaded by either Alter or customer and drive loads to customer or Alter.
• Drive semis around the yard while moving scrap material.
• May operate equipment within the yard, loading or moving scrap material.
• Wear all necessary PPE when working in the yard.
• Follow company safety standards at all times.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.
