Job summary

MTM Transit in Tucson, AZ, is hiring Full-Time CDL Drivers to join the Sun Shuttle Dial A Ride partnership. Training classes start weekly, and candidates must have a passenger endorsement (School Bus endorsement preferred). Location: 829 West Silverlake Road, Tucson, AZ 85713.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 21+ years old required.
• Arizona CDL with passenger endorsement and School Bus endorsement preferred.
• No reckless driving in past 5 years.
• No DUI/DWI in last 10 years.
• No convictions involving moral turpitude in last 5 years.
• Authorized to work in United States.
• Pass DOT physical and pre-employment drug screen.
• Criminal background and MVR checks required.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and reliable transportation.
• Demonstrate excellent defensive driving skills.
• Deliver outstanding customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
• Assist passengers with loading and unloading.
• Assist with mobility devices and securement as required.
• Ensure on-time pickup and drop-off.
• Be sensitive to needs of older adults and individuals with disabilities.
• Complete vehicle pre-trip, post-trip and DVI inspections.
• Complete paperwork as required.
• Utilize tablets or electronic devices as required.

What will your job look like?

MTM Transit in partnership with Sun Shuttle Dial A Ride is looking for Full-Time Drivers . We are hiring CDL Drivers to join our team in Tucson, AZ. We currently have training classes that start every week.

What You'll Need:

Experience, Education & Certifications:

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Must have and maintain a valid Arizona CDL - with passenger endorsement - School Bus Endorsement preferred
• No reckless driving offenses within the past 5 years
• No DUI or DWI convictions in the last 10 years
• No convictions involving moral turpitude within the past 5 years
• Possess valid authorization to work in the United States
• Must be able to pass a DOT Physical and pre-employment drug screening
• Must pass criminal background check and investigation & Motor Vehicle Record check

Schedule flexibility: Looking for individuals who are available 7 days a week between the hours of 4:30am - 8:30pm (35-40+ hours per week). Shifts will be assigned after training is completed

Skills:

• Ability to use a tablet, GPS, two-way radio, or other electronic device
• Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality
• Ability to communicate with others and comprehend instructions
• Ability to understand highway traffic signs, signals, maps, manifests, and scheduled.
• Ability to obtain knowledge of FTA, ADA, and DOT regulations
• Familiarity/regularestablishedskill? Actually the text includes: "Familiarity with the main roadways and major highways in the service area"

What You'll Do:

• Provide safe and reliable transportation
• Demonstrate excellent defensive driving skills
• Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external stakeholders
• Must assist with passenger loading and unloading from vehicle
• Must assist with any mobility device and securement as required for safety protocols
• Ensure the on-time pick-up and drop off of the customer
• Demonstrates understanding and sensitivity to the needs of older adults and individuals with disabilities
• Complete thorough vehicle pre-trip, post-trip, and DVI inspections as required
• Complete paperwork as required
• Utilize tablets or electronic devices as required
