Job summary

S&S Paving & Construction, a Phoenix-based civil contractor, is hiring a CDL Driver to safely operate commercial trucks and assist with sealcoating operations across Arizona. The role blends driving with hands-on field work in a fast-paced outdoor setting.

The ideal candidate has a valid CDL (Class A or B), a clean MVR, and the ability to work early mornings and overtime during peak season. DOT safety compliance and teamwork are essential. Travel to multiple job sites may be required.

The company has built a reputation for delivering high-quality roadway, asphalt, and infrastructure projects for municipal, commercial, and residential clients.

Job Summary

The CDL Driver is responsible for safely operating commercial vehicles. This role combines CDL driving with hands‑on field work and requires attention to detail, safety compliance, and teamwork in a fast‑paced outdoor environment.

Key Responsibilities

Driving & Equipment Operation

• Operate CDL-class trucks transporting sealcoat materials, water, sand, and equipment
• Safely maneuver and position vehicles at job sites
• Operate sealcoating spray systems, pumps, squeegees, and related equipment
• Perform daily vehicle and equipment inspections (pre‑trip and post‑trip)

Sealcoating Operations

• Apply asphalt sealcoat to parking lots, drive lanes, and other paved surfaces
• Assist with surface preparation including cleaning, crack filling, and barricading
• Monitor material consistency and application coverage
• Ensure quality workmanship that meets company and customer standards

Safety & Compliance

• Follow DOT, OSHA, and company safety procedures at all times
• Maintain a clean driving record and comply with CDL regulations
• Properly secure loads and materials during transport
• Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required

Maintenance & Support

• Perform basic maintenance and cleaning of trucks and sealcoating equipment
• Report mechanical issues or safety concerns promptly
• Accurately complete logs, inspection reports, and work tickets

Required Qualifications

• Valid CDL (Class A or B) with appropriate endorsements (if applicable)

• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Physical ability to lift, bend, stand, and work on feet for extended periods

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with spray systems or similar industrial equipment
