Job summary

US LBM is seeking a CDL Driver I to transport building materials safely to job sites and other locations. You will maintain logbooks, perform DOT inspections, and ensure proper loading and unloading of materials.

Responsibilities include delivering to construction sites, complying with DOT regulations, and providing excellent customer service while representing US LBM positively on every assignment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CDL Class A or B with flatbed/tractor trailer experience preferred.
• 1–2 years CDL experience preferred; experience transporting lumber/building materials is required.

Responsibilities

• Operate Class A or B commercial vehicles in a safe, compliant, and efficient manner.
• Deliver to active construction sites and other locations; city-based and interstate travel may be required.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip DOT inspections and maintain logs per federal regulations.
• Provide professional customer service and accurately relay messages from customers on site.
• Load, unload, and secure loads; verify orders before departure and on delivery.
• Adhere to all DOT regulations and company safety policies.
• Keep logs of driving hours, on-duty time, and rest periods in accordance with regulations.
• Unload materials safely and assist with returns for credits as needed.
• Safely operate a truck-mounted forklift at job sites.
• Maintain truck cleanliness and organization; assist with stock in warehouse and production areas.
