Part-Time Position
Pay Rate: $21.00 per hour
JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for the delivery and pickup of containers to and from customer locations, ensuring effective and incident-free operations while maintaining excellent rapport with customers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Drive and operate a commercial truck with a patented lift mechanism to load and unload containers safely, following all safety rules.
- Perform and log daily pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and lift.
- Accept additional deliveries as required to meet business needs.
- Use company handheld computer for delivery verification and navigation.
- Operate a forklift and/or overhead crane.
- Clean and inspect containers to ensure they are presentable for delivery.
- Coordinate rental paperwork and payments with customers.
- Communicate with the Driver Lead or Market Manager regarding customer questions or issues; prepare driver notes as needed.
- Perform repairs of containers and lifts in the field and at the storage center.
- Provide backup for storage center functions when needed.
- Maintain cleanliness of the truck cab, inside and outside.
MANAGEMENT & SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Typically reports to Management, such as Market or Territory Managers.
- This role does not involve direct management responsibilities like hiring or performance management.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Valid CDL Class B License without air brake restriction.
- Must maintain a current/valid driver’s license.
- Meet PODS Driver Qualification Standards.
- Must be at least 21 years old (insurance requirement).
- Possess a valid Medical Examiner's Certificate or ability to obtain one (DOT requirement).
- Experience with electronic equipment and software preferred.
- Math skills sufficient for duties required.
- Ability to attend a 2-week New Hire Driver Training Program.
