Job summary

Penn Line Tree Service, Inc. is seeking a CDL driver who will mainly perform laborer duties while supporting line clearance work. The role requires at least 6 months of Class A CDL driving experience with an emphasis on heavy hauling and safety around utility lines.

Travel is regional, covering PA, MD, OH, VA, and NC, with overtime and storm work as needed. While driving is a smaller part of the job, you will operate various equipment, assist with chipping, spraying, flagging, and site prep as

• Heavy Hauling experience is a must.
• Laborer duties constitute a major portion of the job, including chainsaw operation, chipping, clearing, and dragging brush.
• Ability to travel regionally across PA, MD, OH, VA, and NC.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor trailers and other equipment as needed.
• Assist laborer duties including chainsaw operation and brush clearing.
• Transport clearing equipment, chip vans, and log trailers between sites.
• Occasional driving of log trucks and other heavy vehicles.
• Overtime and storm work; schedule varies up to 60-70 hrs/week.

Job description

Job Description: Nature of work involves utility line tree trimming, right-of way clearing and vegetation management. A CDL Driver will operate mostly tractor trailers in addition to other miscellaneous equipment. Drivers will haul oversized clearing equipment, chip vans, and log trailers between work sites, may transport work materials, and may haul wood & tree chips. Driver’s may also be required to drive a log truck, debris truck, and tri-axle. At least 6 months driving experience with Class A CDL. Heavy Hauling experience is a must . Drivers will also be required to participate with laborer duties since they comprise a majority of the job . Laborer duties may include operating a chainsaw; chipping, clearing, & dragging brush; spraying herbicide; flagging, etc. (Note: Driving Duties are only a minor portion of this position)

Work Schedule: Varies- up to 60-70 hrs/week. Candidate must be available for Over-time & storm work as needed.

Rate of Pay: Varies depending upon Skills and Experience.

Work Area: Travel required throughout various states including PA, MD, OH, VA, & NC. Candidates must be flexible to travel regionally when called upon since work locations are subject to change upon short notice based on contract demands.
