Job summary

Waste Management in New Mexico is hiring CDL drivers to operate heavy-duty trucks for waste collection and recycling services. You will handle front, side, or rear-end load lifts, traveling to disposal or transfer facilities while adhering to safety rules and DOT requirements.

The role emphasizes pre/post-trip inspections, reporting issues, and maintaining clear communication with Dispatch. Experience with CDL A/B and air-brake endorsements is preferred.

Qualifications

• 1 year operating a vehicle requiring a CDL.
• 1 year equivalent military driving within the last 7 years.
• Must be at least 18 years of age and legally eligible to work.
• Able to read, write, and speak English well enough to interact with the public and complete records.
• Pre-employment screening including drug screen and physical.
• CDL Class A with air-brake endorsement or CDL Class B with air-brake endorsement.

Responsibilities

• Operates vehicle in accordance with safety, OSHA and DOT requirements.
• Performs pre- and post-trip inspections and documents checks.
• Reports unsafe situations or service issues immediately.
• Attends required trainings, briefings, and meetings.
• Works with Operations Manager to improve route efficiencies.
• Notifies of incidents, accidents, or property damage.
• Communicates customer requests to Operations or Dispatch.
• Completes end-of-day documentation and checkout.
