Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs complete pre and post operation inspection of a commercial vehicle in accordance with FCC policy to ensure tire pressure, fluid levels; safety equipment, gauges, etc. are in proper working order
- Responsible for the safe operation of commercial vehicles on assigned routesto include highways, residential communities, and alleyways
- Operates manual and/or automatic controls in accordance with FCC's safety policies and procedures
- Courteously interacts with all necessary personnel, dispatchers, and others on a daily basis to ensure all services are completed in a timely and professional manner
- Continuously monitor the condition of the vehicle to ensure it is operationally ready at all times to minimize down time
- Accurately completes required documents and other reports as required
- Maintains adherence to required productivity standards for the department to ensure all customers are serviced in a timely and efficient manner
- Responsible for adhering to and upholdingall safety policies and procedures
Experience and Competencies:
- High School diploma or GED
- Class A commercial driver’s license
- Ability to lift or carry heavy objects as necessary
- Must meet all qualification as defined under Department of Transportation regulations
- Drug free workplace. Substance abuse policies are in effect. Substance abuse testing is a condition of the initial on-boarding process and the continuation of employment
