Job summary

Employment Group is assisting with the placement of a CDL B Driver for a Battle Creek, MI operation on a contract-to-hire basis. You will read orders, load and unload shipments, and maintain inventory records to support efficient warehouse operations.

The role requires a CDL B, forklift license or the ability to obtain one, and a high school diploma or GED, plus basic computer skills. Training on 1st shift will be provided before transitioning to 2nd shift.

Qualifications

• Previous commercial driving experience required.
• Forklift license or ability to obtain one.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Read customer orders and prepare shipping.
• Unload trucks/containers from suppliers.
• Load trucks per customer order.
• Maintain Lot number tracking sheet.
• Record amounts of materials or items received or shipped on the inventory board.
• Perform cycle counts.
• Complete required training programs.
• Ensure that area is clean according to company 5S principles.
• Follow safety guidelines and inspection of equipment.

Compensation:$18.00-$22.00/hour (based on experience) – Paid Weekly

Schedule: 2nd Shift 1:30pm-10:00pm (will train for one week on 1st Shift)

What You’ll Bring:

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

• Warehouse environment with exposure to moderate level of noise, grease and oils, moving machinery, electrical shock.
• Occasional lifting, carrying or moving objects up to 30 lbs. and regular lifting, carrying or moving objects up to 10 lbs.
• Occasional work at heights up to 15 feet.
