Wheeler Services, Inc. is seeking a CDL-A Driver to transport construction equipment and materials between the shop and job sites. You will play a key role in keeping operations running smoothly, ensuring timely deliveries and pickups, and supporting the maintenance team with light mechanical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload equipment between shop and sites.
• Safely operate CDL vehicle to transport equipment and materials.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and log results.
• Ensure loads comply with DOT regulations and safety procedures.
• Assist maintenance team with light mechanical tasks as needed.

TheCDLDriverisresponsibleforsafelytransportingconstructionequipmentandmaterialsbetweentheshopandprojectsites.Thispositionplaysakeyroleinkeepingoperationsrunningefficientlybyensuringtimelydeliveryandpickupofheavyequipment,tools,andsmallmachinery.Thepositionalsorequiresageneralknowledgeofmechanicalsystemstoassistthemaintenanceteamwhenneeded.

Dailychallengesandgoals:

• Loadandunloadvariousequipmentsuchastrowelmachines,lighttowers,generators,aircompressors,compactors,vibrators,saws,andsmallexcavators.
• SafelyoperateCDLAvehiclestodeliverandpickupconstructionequipment,tools,andmaterialsbetweenjobsitesandtheshop.
• SecureloadsfollowingDOTregulationsandcompanysafetyprocedures.
• Performpre-tripandpost-tripvehicleinspections,reportinganyissuesimmediately.
• Maintainaccuratedeliverylogsandrecordsoftransporteditems.
• Conductbasicinspectionsonequipmentbeforetransporttoensureitissafeandfunctional.
• AssisttheShopteamwithlightmechanicaltaskssuchascheckingfluids,cleaning,lubricating,andidentifyingrepairneeds.
• Supportthemaintenanceshopwithorganization,minorrepairs,andpreparationofequipmentfordelivery.
• Maintainthecleanlinessandgoodworkingconditionofassignedtruckandtrailer.
• FollowallapplicableDOT,OSHA,andWheelerServicessafetyregulations.
• Communicateeffectivelywithprojectmanagers,shoppersonnel,andsuperintendentstocoordinateequipmentdeliveriesandpickups.

WhatdoyouneedtosucceedinthisRole?

• CommercialDriver'sLicense(CDL)ClassA
• HighschoolDiploma/GED
• 2+yearsofcommercialdrivingexperience,preferablyintheconstructionorheavyequipmentindustry.
• Basicmechanicalaptitudeorexperienceworkingaroundsmallequipmentisstronglypreferred.
• OSHA30certificationpreferred.
