Tractor-trailer drivers for Wolter, Inc. drive typically on a 1 st shift basis, core hours 7:00AM to 3:30PM. Overtime is needed occasionally to meet customer delivery requirements. Hours are kept within the State DOT guidelines.
Drivers haul loads that are primarily comprised of material handling equipment and some construction equipment, as well as peripheral equipment. Examples: Forklift trucks, aerial equipment, scissor lifts, skid steer loaders, industrial batteries and chargers – other items may be hauled as requested.
In order to perform as a tractor-trailer driver for Wolter, Inc., the employee must be able to sit for long periods of time (driving time in some cases can be several hours). Must be able to communicate via phone and CB radio. Requires frequent walking, standing, kneeling, reaching (sometimes above shoulders) with hands and arms, balancing, stooping, using hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Must be able to talk and listen to customers or co-workers. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 150 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate; however, while performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to noisier shop environments and may be exposed to unusual environments at customer sites. When performing duties of this job, it is a requirement to wear Personal Protective Equipment whenever appropriate.
