Job summary

Arnold Oil Company of Austin is seeking a Driver – Class A to responsibly deliver bulk oil and merchandise to customers in Texas. You will operate an 18-wheeler, perform pre- and post-trip inspections, and maintain accurate logs and delivery papers.

The role requires a tanker-endorsed CDL, a clean driving record, and ability to lift up to 60 lbs. You will load/unload using forklifts or hand trucks and uphold safety and DOT standards.

Qualifications

• Must hold CDL with tanker endorsement and be at least 21.
• Valid Texas driver’s license with clean 3-year history.
• Background check, drug test, and physical required.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to lift at least 60 lbs.
• Basic math and English literacy skills.
• Able to perform pre- and post-trip inspections.
• Excellent customer service and safety awareness.

Position OverviewDriver – Class “A” is responsible for making daily deliveries of Company products to customers using Company-provided vehicle. May deliver bulk oil or other merchandise, and/or pick up returns from customers, load and unload the vehicle, conduct pre and post trip inspections, maintain a daily travel log, and handle shipping papers and invoices.Primary Job FunctionsThe primary job functions include, but are not limited to:Transports bulk oil and miscellaneous stock via 18 Wheeler truckPerform pre trip, and post trip inspections which includes checking gasoline, oil, water, and tires and fills as required. Record any malfunctions of equipment on the Inspection Sheet which is reviewed by the supervisor and Safety ManagerLoads and unloads trucks both manually and using forklifts, pallet jacks or hand trucksMaintain Daily Log Sheets which includes entering miles and times at each stop. Maintains delivery, truck and driving records by obtaining receipt acknowledgements; recording tracking information; completing driver log and truck performance formsPossess the ability to handle money from customers and be able to make change if necessaryPresent a good image of the company through proper dress and attitude. Maintains safe operation and clean appearance by complying with organization operational policies, procedures, and standards, as well as state and local and DOT driving rules and regulationsResponsible for maintaining a clean vehicle, both on the exterior and the interiorMaintain a satisfactory attendance recordMaintains a safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, work stations and shipping supply areas neat in the warehouse.
