Job description

Job Description: Class A driver, bobtail/class B, tractor trailer, must be able to drive automatic along with manual. 100% driving but may be offloading material or helping load their truck. All local driving, 120 miles to delivery site, always have routes to be back at the shop before the end of their shift. Loads will consist of pipes, fittings, bolts, and gaskets. Warehouse/distribution savvy is a plus. Hybrid Position. Standard warehouse activities will be required: Picking, palletizing, wrapping, receiving, housekeeping, etc.

Must be 21 years or older!

All drivers must hold the required state-issued self-certification designation of non-excepted interstate and provide proof. All drivers must hold at a minimum a valid Class B Commercial Driver's License.

All drivers must have at least one (1) year of experience driving the class of vehicles they will operate while assigned to *** Enterprises, Inc. They must have held a CDL for a minimum of one year.

In addition to the essential job functions, all associates will perform duties as requested by branch management. Responsibilities may vary based on location and operations.

Job Functions:

1. Deliver materials by the scheduled time.
2. Validate directions.
3. Unload or assist in unloading material as required.
4. Ensure material is properly secured and within weight limits.
5. Ensure delivery of ticket with material and obtain customer signature.
6. Communicate with your supervisor throughout the day.
7. Pick up customer returns and verify that product matches request for credit.
8. Pick up local-pickup purchase orders.
9. Secure and return packing list(s).
10. Verify all material has been unloaded and placed at the delivery site.
11. Verify the customer’s signature on the delivery ticket and print name if necessary.
12. Review delivered orders with the supervisor for accuracy and completion.
13. Return all delivery ticket copies to the warehouse, ensuring none are missing.
14. Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
15. Comply with all Department of Transportation (DOT) standards and regulations.
16. Fuel the truck as necessary.
17. Report vehicle problems, violations, accidents, and defects to the supervisor.
18. Follow company uniform policy.
19. Assist in warehouse tasks as necessary.
20. Represent the company professionally, ensuring quality customer service.
21. Abide by all company policies, rules, safety regulations, and procedures.
22. Support corporate programs, goals, and initiatives.
23. Work overtime as needed.
24. Class A license allows operation of any vehicle with a semi-trailer or trailer with two or more axles, including any combination with a gross vehicle weight over 26,001 pounds, provided the towed vehicle exceeds 10,000 pounds.

Comments for Suppliers: Monday through Friday, 6 am to 2:30 pm, with a half-hour unpaid lunch.
