Merchants Distributors, LLC (MDI) in Hickory, NC is seeking Tractor-Trailer Drivers to support our distribution center with timely deliveries across multiple states and customer service at delivery. You may assist unloading pallets as needed and must be ready for a fast-paced route.

Requirements include a valid CDL-A, a clean MVR with limited tickets, and at least 1 year of verifiable tractor-trailer experience or graduation from an accredited CDL school. Excellent benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• At least 21 years old with an active CDL class A.
• Clean MVR with no more than 2 tickets and no at fault DOT accidents in 3 years.
• 1 year of verifiable tractor-trailer driving or graduation from CDL school.
• Must pass MVR, criminal, drug, DOT physical, and job simulation testing.
• Basic computer skills and strong communication.
• Self-starter with professional appearance.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely delivery of goods to customers and review orders before delivery.
• Assist with unloading trucks and provide excellent customer service.
• Deliveries cover PA, OH, MD, KY, WV, VA, TN, NC, SC, GA, FL.

Candidates must live within one hour commute of Merchants Distributors (MDI).

Responsibilities

Drivers are responsible for ensuring timely delivery of goods to customers, reviewing orders prior to delivery, assisting with the unloading of trucks and providing exceptional customer service to our clients. Deliveries cover PA, OH, MD, KY, WV, VA, TN, NC, SC, GA, FL

Qualifications

• Be at least 21 years of age with an active CDL class A.
• Must have a clean MVR with no more than 2 tickets and no at fault DOT accidents in the previous 3 years.
• Required 1 year of verifiable tractor-trailer driving experience pulling 45-53 ft. trailers or have graduated from an accredited Class A CDL truck driving school
• Must pass all necessary testing for employment (MVR, criminal, drug, dot physical, job simulation test)

Other qualifications

Must have basic computer skills, excellent communication skills, ability to interact well with supervision and co-workers, a self-starter with good organizational skills, and maintain a professional appearance.

Drivers are required to safely assist in unloading pallets using a pallet jack (manual and electric) also at some locations drivers may handle casesup to 100lbs.

Must be able to work an open schedule up to 6 days a week and Holidays.

Must be able to complete a proper pre trip inspection and pass an onsite backing test.
