Job Summary

Supports the operation functions of the warehouse and delivery services. Provides delivery of materials to customer sites or branch locations. Maintains a clean vehicle, daily driver logs, and daily vehicle inspection reports. Completes truck summaries, driver logs, and other back-end details daily. Assists with loading and unloading material and provides exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

• Delivers materials to customer sites or branch locations.
• Maintains delivery vehicle in good condition, monitors maintenance and mileage.
• Prepares and maintains driver logs and vehicle inspection reports.
• Follows all DOT regulations and company policies.
• Understands and coordinates truck routes and deliveries.
• Loads and unloads materials at various locations.
• Supports warehouse operations.

Pole Drivers

• Drives over-length vehicles in various conditions.
• Handles large poles using specialized equipment on job sites and pole yards.
• Rigs oversize loads for highway transport.
• Works on construction sites and in ROWs with uneven terrain.
• Unloads poles from rail cars in rail yards.

CDL Trainees

• Completes required training to obtain a CDL license.
• Learn vehicle inspections and cargo securement.
• Utilizes vehicle technology and understands required documentation.
• Undergoes orientation for various vehicle types and equipment.
• Drives with a CDL mentor during training.

Non-essential Functions

• May conduct Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI).
• May perform warehouse tasks like order filling, stocking, and shipping.
• Assists with packing and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum two-year business/trade degree or relevant experience.
• Experience with warehouse distribution, forklift operation, electrical products preferred.
• Minimum age 21.
• Clean driving record.
• Valid Class A or B CDL and current medical certification.
• English proficiency required.
• Knowledge of PC, Internet, Email, SAP is a plus.
• Familiarity with state regulations for oversize loads for Pole Drivers.

Physical Requirements

Lift and carry: Occasional to frequent based on weight categories. Physical activity includes sitting, standing, walking, bending, reaching, and operating equipment as detailed.
