The CDL Driver is responsible for safely delivering materials to customers while also supporting warehouse operations when deliveries are not scheduled. This role requires a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License and involves operating vehicles such as an F-250 with a pipe rack and a flatbed Peterbilt bobtail truck. The driver is expected to provide professional customer service, comply with all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, and assist with general warehouse duties as needed.

Job Responsibilities
  • Deliver materials safely and on schedule as directed by the supervisor.
  • Validate delivery routes and directions before and during deliveries.
  • Load, unload, or assist with unloading materials as required.
  • Ensure all materials are properly secured and remain within applicable weight limits.
  • Deliver tickets with materials and obtain customer signatures upon delivery.
  • Verify that all materials have been unloaded and placed at the designated delivery location.
  • Review delivery documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Print customer names next to signatures when necessary.
  • Communicate with the supervisor throughout the workday regarding deliveries, schedules, and operational needs.
  • Pick up customer returns and verify that returned products match the associated credit request.
  • Pick up local purchase orders as assigned.
  • Secure and return packing lists and delivery documentation to the warehouse.
  • Verify that all required delivery ticket copies are returned and accounted for.
  • Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
  • Fuel vehicles as needed and report vehicle problems, defects, accidents, moving violations, or other concerns to the supervisor.
  • Comply with all applicable DOT regulations and safety requirements.
  • Assist with warehouse operations when deliveries are not scheduled, including material handling and other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable uniform, safety, operational, and workplace policies.
  • Represent the organization professionally and provide quality customer service at all times.
  • Support operational programs, goals, and initiatives as assigned.
  • Work overtime as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as requested by branch management based on operational needs.
Job Requirements
  • Minimum of one year of experience driving Class A commercial vehicles.
  • Must have held a valid Commercial Driver's License for a minimum of one year.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License required.
  • Must hold the required state-issued self-certification designation for non-excepted interstate driving and provide proof upon request.
  • Ability to safely operate Class A commercial vehicles, including vehicles with semi-trailers or trailers with two or more axles.
  • Ability to operate vehicle combinations with a gross vehicle weight rating greater than 26,001 pounds when the towed vehicle exceeds 10,000 pounds, as permitted by the applicable Class A license.
  • Ability to safely operate assigned delivery vehicles, including an F-250 with a pipe rack and a flatbed Peterbilt bobtail truck.
  • Knowledge of and ability to comply with applicable DOT regulations and safety requirements.
  • Ability to safely load, secure, transport, and unload materials.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to complete delivery documentation accurately.
  • Ability to perform warehouse duties and adapt to changing operational priorities.
