Job summary

BNB Metals LLC in Fort Lauderdale seeks a CDL Driver / Assembly Technician to split time between deliveries and shop tasks. You will load, transport, and unload products, then assist in assembling metal components and inspecting finished work.

Role requires strong driving history, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work in a fast-paced fabrication environment with some evenings/weekends. Hybrid shop setting offers varied duties.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL Class A or B with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Drive and deliver loads, loading and securing cargo and performing pre/post trips.
• Operate company vehicles in compliance with DOT regulations and safety policies.
• Assemble metal components to engineering drawings and specs.
• Inspect assemblies, troubleshoot issues, and support process improvements.
• Maintain clean, organized shop and vehicle areas; assist with general tasks as needed.

CDL Driver / Assembly Technician (Shop Hybrid)

We are seeking a dependable CDL driver with hands-on shop skills to split their time between making deliveries and working as an Assembly Technician / Shop Helper. On delivery days, you will load, secure, and deliver our products safely and accurately. On shop days, you will assemble metal components, inspect finished work, and help keep production moving. This role is a good fit for someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in their work, and is comfortable in both a truck and a fabrication environment.

Key Responsibilities

Driving and Delivery

• Load trucks and properly secure all loads for safe transport.
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report any vehicle issues to the Warehouse Manager.
• Operate company vehicles in compliance with all DOT regulations, local traffic laws, and company safety policies.
• Check clearances before entering covered facilities, and check for obstructions before backing, using a spotter when available.
• Keep all paperwork on hand for each stop, follow the delivery and pickup instructions, and verify every item against the paperwork before handing it to the customer.
• Report damages or discrepancies to the Warehouse Manager immediately, take photos, and do not leave the customer until approval is received.
• Unload pickups on return and check in with the Warehouse Manager for further assignments.
• Keep the truck cab and box clean, including sweeping out the cab and box daily.

Assembly and Shop Support

• Assemble metal components according to engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
• Use hand and power tools, including drills, grinders, and welding equipment, to complete assembly tasks.
• Inspect finished assemblies to confirm they meet quality standards and specifications.
• Identify and troubleshoot assembly issues, making adjustments as needed to maintain product integrity.
• Work with engineers, quality control, and other team members to resolve problems and improve processes.
• Assist with general shop and warehouse tasks, including material handling, staging orders, and organizing inventory.
• Keep the work area clean and organized, and store tools and materials properly.
• Follow all safety protocols to protect yourself and your coworkers.

Qualifications

Required

• Valid CDL [Class A / Class B] with a clean driving record.
• Ability to pass a DOT physical and a drug screen.
• Experience as a company or delivery driver, or in a similar role.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand and power tools.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and perform the physical work of loading, unloading, and assembly.
• Strong attention to detail, especially with paperwork, deliveries, and quality inspections.
• Good communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed.

Preferred

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in an assembly, metal fabrication, or manufacturing environment.
• Vocational training or certification in metal fabrication or a related field.
• Welding experience.
• Forklift experience or certification.

Physical Requirements

• Regularly lift and move heavy items [specify weight, e.g., up to 50 lbs] with or without assistance.
• Stand, walk, bend, and climb for extended periods.
• Work in a shop environment with exposure to noise, metal dust, and moving equipment, and wear required PPE.
• Sit for extended periods when driving.
