Job summary

DeKalb County Government in Decatur, GA is seeking CDL drivers for Automated Side Loader and Rear Loader roles within Solid Waste Management. Positions involve operating heavy trucks on assigned routes, loading, securing, and transporting solid waste, and maintaining safe, timely service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• One year of experience operating heavy equipment and/or driving heavy trucks.

Responsibilities

• Operate rear-loading, automated and other heavy trucks to collect and transport solid waste on assigned routes.
• Position vehicles for safe and efficient collection, loading, and dumping of materials.
• Perform vehicle inspections and basic equipment maintenance.
• Monitor work environment to ensure safety of employees, equipment, and the public.
• Follow traffic laws, safety guidelines, and operating procedures.
