Job summary

Mobile Modular Portable Storage seeks a CDL Driver to transport oversized loads and containers across NJ/NY, with a focus on safety and customer service. You will be home daily and operate during standard daytime hours, contributing to efficient deliveries and a strong on-site presence.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of verifiable Class A driving experience.
• Ability to drive in NJ and NY locations.
• Day shift with Monday–Friday schedule and home daily.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and operating related equipment.
• Commitment to safety and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Pickup and drop portable containers and offices at locations.
• Perform cleaning and light repairs on containers.
• Maintain compliance of safety equipment and gear for vehicle.
• Complete Pre- and Post-Trip inspections; report mileage as required.
• Coordinate maintenance on vehicles and perform spot inspections for hazards.
• Provide customer service at drop/pickup sites and coordinate with sales/operations.
• Communicate with dispatch/operations on trips, delays, issues.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

A Day in the Life of a CDL Driver

As a CDL Driver, your day starts with purpose and ends with pride. You’ll be behind the wheel transporting oversized and overweight loads, ensuring each delivery is made safely, efficiently, and with a customer-first mindset. Whether you're relocating units, performing set-ups and knockdowns, or installing value-added features, your work directly supports our customers and keeps operations running smoothly. You’ll interact with customers regularly, becoming a trusted face they rely on. You will also clean and maintain the containers in our yard. Your attention to detail and commitment to safety ensures every unit is delivered in top condition. And the best part? You’ll enjoy steady, year-round work from Monday through Friday—and be home every night!

What You’ll Do

• Pickup and drop portable containers and portable offices at locations
• Perform cleaning and light repairs on the containers
• Maintain compliance of required safety equipment and gear for self and any assigned vehicle
• Complete quality check Pre and Post-Trip inspections; ensure that mileage is reported appropriately for compliance or other reporting requirements
• Coordinate maintenance on vehicles and do spot inspections for cleanliness and any potential driving hazards
• Provide customer service to customers at the drop/pickup site and coordinate with the sales or operations staff on any issues
• Communicate frequently with dispatch or operations on trips, delays, issues, etc.
• Perform other duties as assigned

Must Haves

• Minimum of 1 year recent verifiable Class A driving experience
• Ability to drive in NJ and NY locations
• Ability to work varied shifts including early morning day shift starts
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. up to shoulder level
• Ability work a winch and other equipment related to the tractor, tanks and boxes
• Ability to leverage straps and tie-downs to secure loads.

Nice to Haves

• Previous container hauling experience desired
• Landoll trailer experience preferred

Special Considerations:

Certain roles may require a clean-shaven face to ensure proper use of safety equipment. Candidates must be prepared to adhere to grooming standards specific to each site.
