ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Load and unload all equipment on trucks.
- Check to ensure the correct amount of trolleys and cabinets are ready for delivery before loading.
- Fill out the pre-trip inspection book and perform mandatory safety checks of the vehicle for each shift.
- Ensure products are loaded into vehicles according to the plan.
- Ensure all items are delivered on time for each flight.
- Communicate via radio with supervisors and dispatchers regarding all job-related items, including updates and issues about whereabouts.
- Drive heavy vehicles while respecting traffic regulations.
- Secure all products before delivery to the aircraft by sealing materials in the truck.
- Maintain a clean working area, loading docks, and equipment.
- Clean the vehicle and area around the dock after each shift.
- Observe proper use of equipment.
- Maintain compliance with general manufacturing practices.
- Visibly wear the Newrest uniform, including safety vest, work boots, and SIDA badge.
- Complete security documents and certificates related to safety and HACCP.
- Train new drivers.
- Install protective devices, such as bracing, padding, and strapping, to prevent shifting or damage during transportation.
- Follow all health, safety, and security procedures.
- Properly utilize and comply with all technology provided for daily functions.
- Follow current and new operational procedures.
- Report safety risks to leadership.
- Perform any job tasks requested by leadership.
- Be aware of and adaptable to the rapidly changing work environment.
- Be diligent, punctual, and reliable.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma preferred.
- Previous experience driving large vehicles.
- Must have a current and valid state-issued Driver's License with a safe driving record.
- Must obtain a current CDL.
- Experience in airline or aviation-related industries is a plus.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Ability to pass all required airport security clearances.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English.
- Understanding and ability to use and manage technological devices.
- Good attendance record.
- Ability to adapt to new operating procedures.
- Awareness of safety risks.
- Ability to communicate issues and knowledge gaps.
- Good knowledge of HACCP.
- Ability to handle pressure and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends (depending on shift), and overtime when required.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
