Job summary
McGrath Rent Corp in Grand Prairie, TX is seeking a CDL Driver to join our team. You will transport oversized and overweight loads, keep safety at the forefront, and enjoy home daily with a Monday through Friday schedule.
This full-time role offers a competitive hourly range, signing bonus, quarterly bonus potential, and benefits. You’ll perform inspections, load-securement, and interact with customers while delivering reliable service.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year verifiable Class A driving experience.
- Ability to work varied shifts including day shift starts.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to operate winch and related equipment.
- Ability to secure loads with straps and tie-downs.
Responsibilities
- Pickup and drop portable containers and portable offices at locations.
- Perform cleaning and light repairs on the containers in yard and at customer locations as needed.
- Maintain compliance of required safety equipment and gear for self and any assigned vehicle.
- Complete quality check Pre and Post-Trip inspections; report mileage as required.
- Coordinate maintenance on vehicles and perform spot inspections for hazards.
- Provide customer service at the drop/pickup site and coordinate with sales/ops staff.
- Communicate with dispatch/operations on trips, delays, issues, etc.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Whether you're relocating units, performing set-ups and knockdowns, or installing value-added features, your work directly supports our customers and keeps operations running smoothly. - Pickup and drop portable containers and portable offices at locations
- Perform cleaning and light repairs on the containers in yard and at customer locations as needed
- Maintain compliance of required safety equipment and gear for self and any assigned vehicle
- Complete quality check Pre and Post-Trip inspections; ensure that mileage is reported appropriately for compliance or other reporting requirements
- Coordinate maintenance on vehicles and do spot inspections for cleanliness and any potential driving hazards
- Provide customer service to customers at the drop/pickup site and coordinate with the sales or operations staff on any issues
- Communicate frequently with dispatch or operations on trips, delays, issues, etc.
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Minimum of 1 year recent verifiable Class A driving experience
- Ability to work varied shifts including early morning day shift starts
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. up to shoulder level
- Ability work a winch and other equipment related to the tractor, tanks and boxes
- Ability to leverage straps and tie‑downs to secure loads.
- Landoll trailer experience preferred
Certain roles may require a clean‑shaven face to ensure proper use of safety equipment. Candidates must be prepared to adhere to grooming standards specific to each site.
- Ability to safely operate commercial and non-commercial vehicles, including local and regional travel.
- Ability to enter and exit vehicle cabs, trailers, modular buildings, storage/office containers, inventory centers, and customer locations throughout the workday.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, squat, reach, twist, and climb as required by the job.
- Ability to load, unload, secure, inspect, and connect equipment, materials, and cargo in compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather, temperature, terrain, and environmental conditions.
- Ability to visually inspect vehicles, equipment, and loads and identify hazards using sight, mobility, and attention to surrounding conditions.
- Ability to use vehicle controls, tools, electronic devices, and load‑securing equipment requiring manual dexterity and physical mobility.
- Ability to physically perform delivery, setup, retrieval, and inspection activities, including walking, bending, reaching, lifting, securing equipment, and working around vehicles, trailers, modular buildings, and storage/office containers.
