Job summary

Gerken Paving, Inc. in Napoleon, OH, is hiring a Laborer (DOT / Hazmat) to support paving and construction operations by operating DOT-regulated vehicles and performing hands-on labor on our crews.

This is a full-time, seasonal position with union membership required within 60 days of employment. You will drive, load, and move materials, assist with site prep, and work outdoors in varying weather alongside a safety-conscious team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid Class A CDL with Hazmat endorsement required.
• Ability to perform hands-on labor and lift up to 50 lbs regularly.

Responsibilities

• Operate DOT-regulated vehicles and assist with paving and construction tasks.
• Transport water and materials to job sites, ensuring safety and quality.
• Perform site prep: pre-seal, seal coating, milling, and equipment handling.
• Load, unload, and move tools and materials around the job site.
• Work with crew members to support project progress and maintain a clean, safe site.
