Job summary

Adventure Tours in Charlotte, NC is seeking a responsible CDL Dispatcher to join our team. You will coordinate drivers for daily shuttle routes, monitor operations, and communicate with drivers to resolve issues while ensuring compliance with DOT regulations.

The role requires 2+ years of driving and dispatch experience, a valid CDL with endorsements, and the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays. On-call one week per month is required; benefits include health and retirement plans.

Qualifications

• CDL with passenger and air brake endorsements, DOT Medical Card.
• Minimum 2+ years of commercial driving experience.
• Experience in dispatching or transportation coordination preferred.
• Strong organizational and communication skills; able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety protocols; flexible hours.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule drivers for daily shuttle routes, line runs, and charters.
• Monitor real-time operations to ensure on-time performance and adherence to schedules.
• Communicate with drivers to provide instructions and updates; resolve issues during shifts.
• Manage driver logs and trip sheets to ensure compliance with policies and federal regulations.
• Track driver performance including safety, timeliness, and customer service.
• Assist in managing emergencies, including delays, accidents, or mechanical failures.
• Serve as primary point of contact for drivers, clients, and internal departments.
• Cover trips as needed to support operations; be on-call one week per month.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule motorcoach and shuttle drivers for daily shuttle routes, line runs, and charters.
• Monitor real‑time operations to ensure on‑time performance and adherence to schedules.
• Communicate with drivers to provide instructions, updates, and resolve any issues that arise during shifts.
• Manage driver logs, trip sheets, and other documentation to ensure compliance with company policies and federal regulations.
• Track and report on driver performance, including safety, timeliness, and customer service.
• Assist in managing emergency situations, including delays, accidents, or mechanical failures.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers, clients, and internal departments.
• Cover trips as needed to support operations.
• Be available for on‑call duty one week per month to handle any after‑hours or emergency situations.

Qualifications

• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with passenger and air brake endorsements.
• Valid DOT Medical Card.
• 2+ years of commercial driving experience.
• Previous experience in dispatching or transportation coordination, preferably in the motorcoach or shuttle industry.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in using dispatch software and GPS tracking systems.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety protocols.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Willingness to step in and cover trips if needed to ensure smooth operations.
• Availability to be on‑call one week per month.
