Job summary

CEC FACILITIES LLC in Great Falls, MT is seeking an Operator with a fundamental understanding of construction to operate a Directional Bore machine. This safety-sensitive role requires strong mechanical aptitude and adherence to DOT regulations.

You will perform equipment maintenance, assist with digging around utilities, transport gear, and travel up to 80% of the time on FTTH build projects. OSHA safety compliance and a valid CDL/driver license are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate a directional bore machine and related equipment.

• Hand dig around utilities and assist with tampers, jackhammers, drills and saws.
• Load and carry materials for job sites.
• Follow all safety policies and report needed repairs.
• Keep tools and equipment in good working order.
• Assist in hauling equipment to and from the job site.
• Clean up and restore work areas after completion.
• Travel up to 80% of the time on FTTH build projects.
• Work with customers and site representatives professionally.

An Operator should possess a fundamental understanding of construction and be able to operate Directional Bore machine. This is a safety sensitive position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Ability to operate a certain piece of equipment
• Grease, oil and do daily maintenance of equipment
• Hand dig around existing utilities when necessary
• Trained to operate tampers, jackhammers, drills, and saws
• Carry and load materials to be used on the job
• Follow all company safety policies and practices
• Report any equipment repairs needed to Foreman or Supervisor
• Light repair and maintenance of tools and equipment
• Assist in hauling equipment to and from job site
• Clean up and restore work area
• Wash and clean vehicles and equipment
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Traveling 80% of the time.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull and reach overhead.
• Sit for long periods of time while driving.
• Lift or move up to 75 pounds. Constantly move about on the feet.
• Climb ladders of all types.
• Complete full day assignments involving overhead work.
• Must be able to make transition from employee parking area or street into construction work areas and to access all levels of the building, even if the only means of access is by O.S.H.A. approved site construction ladder or stairs still under construction, but acceptable for use.
• Must be capable of securing tools and materials from storage areas to complete assigned tasks.
• Possess good vision, normal or corrected.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
• Possess good hearing, normal or corrected.
• Must be able to positively identify different colors of wiring, conduits, and fiber optics.
• Wear personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, safety vest) at all times.
• Must be able to work 8 hours a day, 40 hours per week, and overtime as required and night shifts, as needed. This position requires flexible work hours. In order to get a project completed on time, this position may be required to work overtime, weekends, and night shifts.
• Must be able to work in the presence of customers and their representatives with little or no interference or disruption to the customer while maintaining a professional and courteous image.
