Job summary

ABC Supply, America’s largest wholesale distributor of exterior and interior building products, is looking for a licensed CDL Driver in Richmond, VA. You will drive safely from the facility to job sites, ensure on-time deliveries, and document each delivery while complying with all regulations.

Position emphasizes safety, reliability, and customer service, with opportunities to operate flatbed or straight trucks and potential certifications that support career growth.

Qualifications

• CDL Class A or B required.
• Ability to lift 75–100 pounds repeatedly.
• Pre-employment drug screen required.
• Experience with flatbed or straight trucks preferred.
• Trailer-mounted forklift experience preferred.
• Crane certification preferred.
• Hazmat endorsement preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and unload materials safely to customer sites.
• Ensure load security and perform load checks prior to departure.
• Complete and file logs and government paperwork as required.
• Document each delivery with photos and maintain accurate delivery records.
• Provide customers with invoices upon delivery and collect payments on COD orders.
• Warehouse duties may be required, including loading/unloading materials.

At ABC Supply, we have YOUR future covered.Specific duties may include:Treating customers in a friendly and professional mannerConducting a safe work zone during each job siteAdhering to assigned delivery schedule and following all job directives preciselyDocumenting every step of each delivery by taking and uploading photos with our camera phone systemCompleting a thorough load check on your truck before leaving the branch, ensuring that all delivery materials are firmly secured and all parts of your truck are in compliance with all federal, state, and local regulationsWorking in cooperation with the Delivery Material Handler to determine where to set the materials and unloading themCompleting and filing all logs and required government paperwork in a precise and timely mannerProviding the customer with an invoice on completion of each delivery and collecting the entire due amount on COD deliveriesResponsibilities may include warehouse work, including loading and unloading of materials on to or off of trucks or into warehouse as assignedThis position does not require over the road travelSpecific qualifications include:Valid CDL – Class A or BThe ability to lift 75-100 pounds repeatedly (your most common cargo will be 70 pound bundles of shingles)Pre-employment drug screen and random drug screens are requiredFlatbed and/or straight truck experience is preferredSemi tractor & trailer experience is preferredTrailer mounted forklift experience is preferredCrane certification is preferredHazmat endorsement is preferredBenefits may include:Health, dental, and vision coverage - eligible after 60 days, low out of pocket401(k) with generous company match - eligible after 60 days, immediately vestedEmployer paid employee assistance programEmployer paid short term and long term disabilityEmployer paid life insuranceFlex spendingPaid vacationPaid sick daysPaid holidaysPay Rate Information$24 - 28/hr.
