Job summary

TAL Building Centers, part of the Pacific Northwest building centers family, seeks a CDL delivery driver for onsite transportation of materials. You will load, unload, and deliver materials to customers, maintain logs, and operate trucks and equipment safely.

The role emphasizes compliance with state and federal guidelines, attention to road conditions, and accurate documentation. Remote work is not available.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Must be able to speak and read English.
• CDL endorsement of class A or B with air brake endorsement.
• Must be qualified to drive truck and trailer, tractor and trailer or crane operator.
• 5 years' experience preferred.
• Must have a current valid medical certification.
• Must be able to pass a road test.

Responsibilities

• Load, deliver, and unload materials as a service to customers.
• Prevent damage and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Operate various types of equipment and vehicles in a safe and professional manner.
• Report vehicles and equipment needing service and repair.
• Maintain necessary trip logs, vehicle inspection reports and other required documentation.
• Drive truck to destination, applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations, knowledge of the roads in the area and being aware of hazardous conditions.
• Verify load against shipping papers.
• Prepare receipts for load picked up and for returns.
• Assist in keeping the yard clean and orderly. Report any unsafe conditions.
• Assist in building loads, as required.
• Develop an understanding of basic products and commodities.
• Maintain telephone or radio contact with supervisor to receive delivery instructions.
• May perform other duties as assigned.
