Hajoca Corporation's Gorman Co. in St. Augustine, FL is seeking a CDL Delivery Driver to safely operate delivery trucks and provide excellent customer service at customer sites and local facilities.

The role requires a valid CDL with hazmat endorsement, a clean driving record, and the ability to load, secure, and unload merchandise while keeping accurate shipping documentation and following safety rules.

Qualifikationen

• Be able to drive a vehicle over 26,001 lbs.
• Be at least 21 years old.
• Possess a valid commercial driver's license (CDL) for the vehicle(s) being driven, with hazmat endorsement if operating a vehicle that requires placarding for hazardous materials.
• Have a driving record that meets the criteria for being an Authorized Driver in accordance with Company policy.
• Be able to pass a Department of Transportation physical examination before beginning work and again at least every two years while employed and performing this job function.
• Know the laws, rules and regulations governing driving motor vehicles in general, and commercial motor vehicles subject to Department of Transportation regulations in particular.
• Be able to safely operate any delivery vehicle, including commercial motor vehicles that have a GVWR of 26,001 lbs. or more.
• Know of, be able to apply, and practice safety precautions in a warehouse and material handling environment.
• Be able to build and maintain a positive working relationship with customers, vendors and co-workers.
• Be able to remain calm and function effectively in stressful, unexpected, and/or emergency situations.
• Be able to learn to operate warehouse material-handling equipment.
• Be able to learn and operate the computer related systems used in the delivery process.
• Read, write, speak and understand English.
• Be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Aufgaben

• Operate trucks safely and in compliance with Company rules, applicable laws, and regulations.
• Load the truck at the Profit Center with Hajoca merchandise to be delivered. Secure the load properly so that nothing will shift, get damaged, or fall from the truck.
• Understand the shipping documents and have accurate directions to each destination.
• Review shipping documentation and ensure order accuracy.
• Unload correct merchandise and obtain legible signatures per policy.
• Collect and secure outstanding payments for all cash sale deliveries.
• Work with customers at the delivery site to resolve shipping discrepancies quickly.
• Load the truck at other locations with merchandise and returns as needed.
• Provide sales leads by noting prospective customer names and addresses.
• Inspect the truck and required parts for safe operation; complete DVIR when required.
• End-of-day duties: secure keys, safety checks, and report issues.
• Complete safety and compliance training as assigned.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
