Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• NCCER or NCCCO crane rigger certification – preferred.
• 3+ years of rigger experience.
• Basic knowledge of OSHA safety standards and ability to follow safety procedures.
• Post-offer drug and physical screens; background check as per company requirements.
• Strong knowledge of weights, measurements, and equipment capacity.
• Experience using crane hand signals.
• Team player with communication and customer-service skills.
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, and/or holidays.

With one of the largest inventories of modern lifting equipment (over 1000 units), we are currently seeking a CDL Crane Rigger for our Elko Branch to support the growing demand.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Ensure all applicable rigging meets safety requirements and Sterling Crane standards during the pre‑check process.
• Haul materials and equipment between job sites.
• Signal crane operator during lifts for directional or placement instructions.
• Guide and position loads as necessary at elevated heights.
• Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• NCCER or NCCCO crane rigger certification – preferred.
• 3+ years of prior experience as a rigger.
• Basic knowledge of OSHA safety standards and ability to follow safety procedures.
• Successfully pass post‑offer drug and physical screens and have a background that meets company requirements.
• Strong knowledge of math applications, weights, measurements, equipment capacity limitations, and weight limits.
• Problem‑solving skills and critical thinking to resolve and identify safety issues.
• Previous experience using crane hand signals.
• Team player with excellent communication and customer‑service skills.
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, and/or holidays as needed.

Physical Requirements

• Must stand, walk, bend, squat, sit, and lift for large amounts of time.
• Must be able to pick up, lift, carry, and move a minimum of 65 lbs.
• Must be able to work in all weather conditions while wearing appropriate PPE.
• Must use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, and pull objects/materials.
• Must be comfortable working at elevated heights.
