Job summary

MVI Field Services is seeking a Waste-Water Technician / Driver to provide field services at convenience stores, carwash facilities, and other customer locations.

You will operate company vehicles, collect waste, perform pump-outs, and document services with accuracy while meeting regulatory requirements. Overnight travel is required, with an emphasis on safety and professional conduct.

REPORTS TO:Waste-Water Director

POSITION SUMMARY

The Waste-Water Technician / Driver is responsible for providing wastewater and environmental field services at convenience stores, carwash facilities, and other customer locations. Responsibilities may include collecting and transporting 55-gallon drums containing petroleum contact water and other approved waste, removing liquids and sludge from containment areas, and performing scheduled wastewater and sludge removal services at carwash facilities.

Technicians may operate companybox trucks, vacuum trucks, and other service vehiclesbased on assigned routes, equipment qualifications, and licensing requirements. This position requires regular overnight travel, safe operation of company vehicles and equipment, accurate documentation of services performed, and proper disposal of collected waste at approved facilities.

The Waste-Water Technician / Driver represents MVI Field Services while interacting with customers, disposal facilities, vendors, and regulatory personnel and is expected to maintain a professional, courteous, and safety-focused approach at all times.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Understand and follow verbal and written instructions in English.
• Possess a valid U.S. driver's license and be legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Maintain an acceptable driving record in accordance with company requirements.
• Maintain a valid Class B CDL when required for assigned equipment and maintain a current DOT medical certificate.
• Safely operate company vehicles, which may include:
• Box trucks used for the pickup and delivery of 55-gallon drums.
• Vacuum trucks used for liquid, sludge, and wastewater removal.
• Other company service vehicles as assigned.
• Pick up full drums and deliver empty drums at customer locations according to assigned routes and service requests.
• Safely load, secure, transport, and unload drums in accordance with company procedures and applicable transportation requirements.
• Collect petroleum contact water and other approved waste from drums, sumps, spill containment areas, under-dispenser containments (UDCs), and other approved containment areas.
• Perform wastewater, liquid, and sludge removal services at carwash facilities, including pits, tanks, reclaim systems, and other approved containment areas.
• Operate pumps, hoses, vacuum equipment, and other tools necessary to safely complete wastewater and carwash services.
• Transport collected waste to approved disposal facilities for processing.
• Complete required manifests, service documentation, disposal documentation, photographs, and electronic reports accurately and timely.
• Accurately document the type and quantity of waste collected and transported using company-provided smartphones, applications, and software systems.
• Follow all company, customer, DOT, environmental, disposal facility, and regulatory requirements.
• Meet professionally with customers, disposal facility personnel, inspectors, and state or local regulators when necessary.
• Travel throughout the work week, typicallyleaving Monday and returning Friday, depending on assigned routes and customer needs. Company-approved travel expenses are paid in accordance with company policy.
• Follow the company expense policy and submit required receipts and documentation timely.
• Successfully complete all required pre-employment and ongoing screenings, including drug testing, physical examinations, DOT requirements when applicable, and background checks.
• Perform required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Maintain company vehicles and equipment in clean, safe, and good operating condition.
• Coordinate and complete preventative maintenance and report vehicle or equipment issues promptly.
• Follow assigned routes and complete scheduled pickups, deliveries, pump-outs, and other services within the assigned timeframe.
• Communicate delays, access issues, equipment problems, additional waste, or other service concerns to management promptly.
• Take required before-and-after photographs and document any conditions preventing service from being completed.

PHYSICAL & JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to lift and move up to 70 pounds.
• Ability to safely move, position, and handle 55-gallon drums using appropriate equipment and procedures.
• Ability to follow strict safety, environmental, transportation, and technical protocols.
• Ability to kneel, stand, lean, bend, climb, sit, and walk on uneven surfaces.
• Ability to drive for extended periods and travel long distances.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and other environmental conditions.
• Ability to work around petroleum contact water, wastewater, sludge, and other approved non-hazardous waste streams while using required PPE.
• Basic computer skills and the ability to navigate applications on company-provided smartphones and other electronic devices.
• Experience using basic handheld tools and the ability to learn the operation of pumps, hoses, vacuum equipment, and other field equipment.
• Ability to work independently while traveling and completing assigned routes.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate service and disposal records.
• Dependable attendance and an outstanding work ethic.
• Professional appearance, communication, and attitude when representing MVI Field Services.

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

Waste-Water Technician / Drivers are expected to safely and efficiently complete assigned routes while maintaining compliance with company policies, customer requirements, and applicable regulations. Drivers are responsible for communicating with management regarding route progress, service issues, equipment concerns, and any circumstances that may prevent an assigned service from being completed.

Employees are expected to properly care for company vehicles, equipment, tools, fuel cards, smartphones, and other company property entrusted to them.
