Job summary

Qualifications

• A valid CDL with appropriate weight classification.
• 2 years of verifiable Tractor Trailer Experience preferred.
• 1 year flatbed and steel experience preferred.
• Knowledge of all applicable DOT Regulations and Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
• Able to pass pre-employment DOT physical and background check.
• Strong customer service skills and a professional attitude.
• Acceptable MVR Report Abstracts. No more than 2 moving violations within the past 36 months.
• Steel, Heavy Haul, and Oversized Freight experience is a highlighted asset.
• Knowledge of FMCSA and State D.O.T.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently operate a Class B CDL flatbed truck to transport steel materials.
• Secure steel products using strapping, chains, and other securement methods to prevent damage during transit.
• Adhere to traffic laws, regulations, and company policies while driving on public roads.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck, ensuring proper working order.
• Follow routes and schedules to ensure timely delivery to customers.
• Assist with loading and unloading material using forklifts, cranes, and other equipment as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage and fuel consumption.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate schedules.
• Adhere to safety protocols, PPE, and handling of hazardous materials if applicable.
• Dedicated Conestoga trailers - NO TARPING.
