Job summary

East Islip Lumber seeks an experienced CDL Class B driver with Moffett truck-mounted forklift experience to join our team. You will make local deliveries of lumber and building materials to customers and job sites across Long Island and the New York area, including Bay Shore ferry terminals.

On-site in East Islip, NY, you will ensure safe operations, perform pre- and post-trip inspections, and maintain professional customer service while adhering to DOT regulations and company safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL Class B license required.
• Moffett/truck-mounted forklift experience required.
• Clean driving record required.
• 2 years Moffett forklift experience.
• Experience with spider forklift and flatbed dump truck preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely deliver lumber and building materials to customers and job sites.
• Load and unload deliveries using a Moffett/spider forklift.
• Coordinate with warehouse staff to verify orders before leaving the yard.
• Follow assigned routes and complete deliveries safely and on schedule.
• Provide professional, courteous service at each delivery location.
• Verify product quantities and condition upon delivery.
• Obtain proof of delivery, including customer signatures and photos.
• Complete customer pickups and returns as needed.
• Perform required pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Follow all DOT regulations and company safety procedures.
• Keep assigned trucks and equipment clean and in proper working condition.

East Islip Lumber is looking for an experienced CDL Class B Driver with Moffett (truck-mounted forklift) experience to join our team. Routes also include daily service to the Bay Shore ferry terminal, helping supply the Fire Island community year-round.

East Islip Lumber is a trusted supplier of building materials, custom-order doors, windows, and decorative hardware. As an authorized Andersen dealer, we also provide storm-resistant building solutions designed for coastal environments.

Job Responsibilities:

• Safely deliver lumber and building materials to customers and job sites.
• Load and unload deliveries using a Moffett/spider forklift.

Schedule:

• Full-time, Monday through Friday
• Occasional Saturdays depending on business needs
• Start time between 6:30–7:00 AM; end times vary based on business needs, but drivers typically finish between 3:00–4:00 PM.

Requirements

• Valid CDL Class B license required.
• Moffett/truck-mounted forklift experience required.
• Clean driving record required.
• Experience operating a spider forklift and flatbed dump truck preferred.
• Strong knowledge of safe driving and material-handling practices.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
