Job summary

Viking Electric in Madison, Wisconsin is seeking a Delivery Driver Class B CDL to handle local, in-town deliveries. The role starts early with a 4:00am shift and pays $25.00–$30.00 per hour, with home every night.

You will pre-trip, load, deliver and unload, while maintaining safety and strong customer relationships. Training is provided, and 21+ with a Class B CDL and DOT medical are required.

Qualifications

• Must have valid Class B CDL and be 21 or older.
• Ability to lift up to 85 pounds.
• Pass DOT physical.
• Basic math and English communication skills.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• 1 year of related experience or training.

Responsibilities

• Deliver electrical products from warehouse to customers.
• Pre-trip vehicle inspection.
• Load materials and prepare for the day.
• Make local deliveries and assist with unloading.
• Build relationships with customers and provide service.
• Operate material handling equipment.
• Pack and ship orders; maintain a safe work environment.
• Other warehouse duties as assigned.

What You'll Do

As a CDL Driver, you play a vital role in delivering essential electrical products from our warehouse to our valued customers. Each day begins with a thorough pre-trip inspection of your delivery vehicle, followed by loading materials and packages to prepare for the day ahead. You will make local deliveries, contacting customers upon arrival and assisting them with unloading. As the face of our company, you'll build strong relationships with customers who rely on your service and support.

• Conduct vehicle inspections at the start and end of your route
• Transport and deliver products to customers with care
• Unload items such as wire, pipe, conduit, and boxes during deliveries
• Adhere to all safety procedures and regulations
• Maintain a friendly and courteous demeanor with customers
• Fill orders and issues materials and supplies per requests.
• Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks,cherry pickers, walking riders, reach trucks, EZGo carts,hand trucks or dollies.
• Pack and ship customer orders accurately and efficiently.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
• Other warehouse duties as assigned.

What You Bring

Requirements:

• Valid driver's license - Class B CDL
• Be at least 21 years old
• Ability to climb into and drive delivery vehicles
• Ability to lift packages that could weigh up to 85 pounds
• Ability to pass and maintain Department of Transportation (DOT) physical
• Basic math skills (add and subtract numbers)
• Basic English communication skills

• Willingness to learn how to operate equipment (we provide training)
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without VISA sponsorship now or in the future
• 1 year of related experience and/or training
