Job summary

Viking Electric in Madison, Wisconsin is seeking a Delivery Driver Class B CDL to join our local route team. This full-time role starts at 4:00am Monday–Friday and pays $25.00–$30.00 per hour, based on experience.

You will inspect vehicles, deliver products to customers, and maintain safety and professional service. Qualified candidates are 21+, hold a Class B CDL, able to lift up to 85 pounds, pass a DOT physical, and be authorized to work in the United States.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license and Class B CDL required.
• Must be 21 years or older and able to pass DOT physical.
• Able to lift up to 85 pounds and operate delivery equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle inspections at start and end of route.
• Deliver products to customers and unload items as needed.
• Adhere to safety procedures and maintain professional conduct with customers.
• Fill orders and operate material handling equipment as required.
• Pack and ship customer orders accurately and efficiently.

Delivery Driver Class B CDL

Location: Madison, Wisconsin

Job type: Full time

License: Class B CDL required

Vehicle Type: Box truck/straight truck

Schedule: 4:00am start time Monday-Friday

Hourly pay: $25.00/hr - $30.00/hr (Pay for experience)

Distance: Local deliveries - return home each night

What You'll Do

• Conduct vehicle inspections at the start and end of your route
• Transport and deliver products to customers with care
• Unload items such as wire, pipe, conduit, and boxes during deliveries
• Adhere to all safety procedures and regulations
• Maintain a friendly and courteous demeanor with customers
• Fill orders and issue materials and supplies per requests.
• Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, cherry pickers, walking riders, reach trucks, EZGo carts, hand trucks or dollies.
• Pack and ship customer orders accurately and efficiently.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
• Other warehouse duties as assigned.

What You Bring

Requirements:

• Valid driver's license - Class B CDL
• Be at least 21 years old
• Ability to climb into and drive delivery vehicles
• Ability to lift packages that could weigh up to 85 pounds
• Ability to pass and maintain Department of Transportation (DOT) physical
• Basic math skills (add and subtract numbers)
• Basic English communication skills
• Willingness to learn how to operate equipment (we provide training)
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without VISA sponsorship now or in the future
• 1 year of related experience and/or training
