Kinsley Steel, Inc., a rapidly growing steel fabrication and installation company, is seeking an experienced Class A CDL Truck Driver to deliver structural steel throughout the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic Region.

The duties of this position include, but are not limited to:

  1. Safely and professionally operate a tractor trailer with a flatbed trailer (45', 48', 53', or stretch), straight truck, or other vehicles to haul steel and equipment.
  2. Properly secure loads using chains, binders, and straps to ensure stability during transport.
  3. Physically load and unload materials from trucks, trailers, shop floors, and ground using manual lifting, forklifts, or overhead cranes.
  4. Coordinate with shipping and receiving for daily deliveries and pickups.
  5. Plan routes and delivery schedules to meet deadlines while following all DOT regulations and company safety policies.
  6. Maintain accurate and up-to-date driver's logs, safety reports, and other required documents per state and federal regulations.
  7. Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the truck and trailer are in safe operating condition.
  8. Report any mechanical issues, defects, accidents, or violations to the appropriate personnel.
  9. Ensure proper maintenance of vehicles, including refueling, cleaning, and minor repairs as needed.
  10. Keep the vehicle clean and organized.
  11. Perform minor preventive maintenance on trucks and trailers.
  12. Maintain professional communication with dispatchers, customers, and team members.
  13. Ensure all freight documents are signed and submitted in a timely manner.
  14. Assist the team with non-driving tasks when deliveries are not scheduled.

Requirements:

  • Valid Class A CDL license with a clean driving record.
  • Minimum 5 years of commercial truck driving experience (preferred).
  • Must be 21 years or older.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Experience delivering to construction sites is preferred.
  • Experience hauling stretch and wide loads is a plus.
  • Knowledge of securing structural steel, stairs, and rails is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of DOT safety procedures, load securement, and compliance.
  • Ability to work overtime and Saturdays as required.
  • Ability to stay out of town occasionally.
  • Must pass pre-employment DOT physical and drug/alcohol tests.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make safety-conscious decisions.
  • Clean MVR required.
