Position Details:

1. Daily Pay rate of $271.30
2. Schedule: Sunday - Thursday dispatching around 4:00pm

Position Purpose:

Food and food service delivery Drivers fulfill a critical role in the country's food supply chain. Our delivery drivers not only make sure the customers' products arrive at their destination at the scheduled times and in good condition, but they are also the face of our company - building lasting relationships with our customers!

As a Shuttle Driver, you will play a vital role in our business by transporting empty trailers to the Operating Company warehouse locations and delivering full trailers to domicile/shuttle yard locations. The Shuttle Driver operates tandem trailers, tractor trailers, and/or straight trucks on intrastate and interstate routes, ensuring safe and timely delivery in accordance with DOT regulations. Effective communication and professionalism with customers, vendors, and co-workers are essential. You will function as a team member within the department and organization, performing any duty assigned to best serve the company.

Position Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

1. Performing all required safety checks (pre/post trip) including inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to DOT regulations; inspecting for safety standards and taking appropriate action.
2. Reporting safety issues and repairs needed.
3. Following all DOT regulations and company safe driving policies; inspecting trailers for proper loading and securing freight.
4. Ensuring route paperwork is complete and available at dispatch.
5. Driving and delivering trailers according to schedule.
6. Performing hook/unhook procedures safely.
7. Parking and storing trailers in designated areas.
8. Securing equipment and freight properly.
9. Handling damaged goods and customer returns, completing necessary paperwork.
10. Unloading equipment and removing trash from trailers.
11. Completing daily hours of service logs per regulations.
12. Performing housekeeping duties in tractor and loading dock areas.
13. Performing other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

1. 6 months of commercial driving experience
2. High school diploma/GED or equivalent
3. Internal candidates must be in good standing
4. Effective verbal and written communication skills
5. Valid CDL A with Doubles Endorsement
6. Must be 21 years of age
7. Meet all licensing and certification requirements
8. Clean MVR for past 3 years
9. Work scheduled for 3rd shift, Sunday-Thursday nights (schedule may vary)
10. Pass drug test and background check
11. Pass road test
12. Valid DOT health card or ability to obtain one
13. Ability to lift and handle freight up to 90 pounds and operate equipment as needed
