Vortex Companies, LLC is seeking a CDL A Reefer Hazmat Driver to support refrigerated transport for pipeline rehabilitation projects. The role involves driving heavy vehicles and assisting crews with on-site tasks as needed.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

CDL Class A Reefer Hazmat Driver - Pipeline Rehabilitation*

The CDL A Reefer Hazmat Truck Driver transports various materials, both hazardous and non-hazardous material to, from and within customer facilities and storage utilizing a variety of heavy vehicles and trailers.

Our drivers are "working drivers" and are toassist crews by performing several supportive tasks if they are not driving.

CDL Truck Driver Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• The main responsibility of a refrigerated truck driver is to safely transport liner that must be kept under refrigerated conditions.
• Monitoring freight throughout the trip
• Loads and unloads trailer, either individually or with assistance, with or without mechanical handling equipment.
• Records hours of service via an electronic log.
• Maintains vehicle interior and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
• Performs visual inspections of assets prior to leaving the facility, throughout the shift and upon return.
• Communicates any vehicle or equipment damage to maintenance before loading via use of an electronic log.
• Utilizes safe driving skills in maneuvering at varying speeds in a variety of situations, such as heavy traffic, inclement weather and tight spaces.
• Completes all documentation and data entry associated with inspection reports, work orders, shipping documents and other project notes in an accurate manner.
• Communicates any and all accidents and/or incidents immediately.

CDL Driver Requirements and Qualifications:

• Valid CDL A with Hazmat endorsement is required
• 2+ years proven experience in commercial truck driving - preferably with Jet/Vac Trucks, Boiler or Reefer trucks
• Must be able to pass pre-employment drug test, DOT physical and driver’s license check consistent with company standards and DOT requirements
• Ability to work overtime and out of town
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and lift, push/pull, carry 50 lbs.
• Ability to enter and work in confined spaces if necessary
• Skilled at driving and parking large, heavy vehicles
• Possess great physical stamina and focus during long driving shifts
• Able to operate electric lift, hand trucks, pallet jacks, etc.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday but can include shift work, weekends, evenings, holidays - flexibility is required as job duties demand.Travel may be required based on operational needs.

Salary Range

• $22.00- $30.00, depending on position qualifications, job related skills and experience, education, certifications, and geographic location.
