Job summary

DHT Group in Lima, OH is seeking professional CDL-A Hazmat Tanker Owner Operators to join our Propane & Butane Division. You’ll earn 70% of linehaul with a fuel surcharge, plus weekly settlements and a steady stream of regional freight.

Operate within Ohio and surrounding markets with weekly home time, typical 5 days on the road and 2 days at home, load from regional terminals, and support from an experienced dispatch team to help you grow a long‑term business.

Qualifications

• CDL-A with Hazmat (H) endorsement required prior to hire.
• Tanker (N) endorsement required prior to hire; X accepted.
• 1–2 years verifiable CDL-A driving experience preferred; safe driving record.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport propane and butane (UN1075) throughout Ohio region.
• Load product from regional terminals and deliver to customer locations.
• Maintain accurate ELD and Hours of Service records.
• Perform required pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Maintain tanker equipment, valves, hoses, placards, and PPE.
• Follow applicable DOT, FMCSA, customer, and DHT safety requirements.
• Communicate professionally with customers and dispatch.

Regional Operation - Weekly Home Time

This is a regional propane and butane operation with weekly home time.

• Regional operation serving Lima, Ohio, and surrounding markets
• Home every week
• Typical operating schedule of approximately 5 days on the road followed by 2 days home
• One weekend day availability required
• Consistent work during peak propane season

What You’ll Do

• Safely transport propane and butane (UN1075)
• Operate throughout Ohio and surrounding regional service areas
• Load product from regional supply terminals including Toledo, Lima, Monroe, Sycamore, and Green Springs, Ohio
• Deliver safely and professionally to customer locations throughout the regional service area
• Safely load and unload tanker trailers using hoses and pumping equipment
• Perform required pre-trip and post-trip inspections
• Maintain accurate ELD and Hours of Service records
• Maintain tanker equipment, valves, hoses, placards, and required PPE
• Follow applicable DOT, FMCSA, customer, and DHT safety requirements
• Communicate professionally with customers and dispatch

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL
• Hazmat (H) endorsement required prior to hire
• Tanker (N) endorsement required prior to hire; combined X endorsement accepted
• 1–2 years of verifiable CDL-A driving experience preferred
• Safe driving record
• Ability to meet applicable DOT qualification requirements
• Ability to work safely outdoors in varying weather conditions, including sub-freezing temperatures
• Ability to safely handle hoses, valves, pumping equipment, and required PPE, including cold-weather protective equipment and face shields
• Commitment to safe, professional operation

Tanker Experience

Experience hauling propane, butane, LPG, anhydrous ammonia, refined fuel, or other bulk liquid/gas commodities is strongly preferred.

Drivers with transferable tanker experience are encouraged to apply.

Truck & Equipment Requirements

• DOT-compliant tractor
• Tractor must pass DHT equipment inspection before sign-on
• Electronic Logging Device (ELD) required
• Hydrapak/wet kit required to power trailer hydraulic offloading equipment
• Current registration and insurance
• Equipment must meet applicable DHT, DOT, and regulatory requirements
