Job summary
Dave Hausbeck Trucking (DHT Group) is seeking CDL-A Hazmat Tanker Owner Operators for our Propane & Butane Division in Fort Wayne, IN. You’ll earn 70% of linehaul plus a fuel surcharge with weekly settlements and access to established customers and dispatch support.
Regional operation with weekly home time across Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Illinois and surrounding markets. Typical schedule is 5 days on the road, 2 days home, with safety standards and DOT compliance emphasized.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements.
- Hazmat (H) and Tanker (N) endorsements required; X accepted.
- 1–2 years verifiable CDL-A driving experience preferred.
- Safe driving record and ability to meet DOT qualification requirements.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Responsibilities
- Safely transport propane and butane (UN1075).
- Operate throughout Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, and surrounding regional service areas.
- Load from propane supply terminals throughout the Midwest.
- Deliver safely and professionally to DHT customers.
- Safely operate pumps, hoses, valves, and tanker equipment.
- Complete required pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
- Maintain applicable DOT compliance.
- Maintain accurate ELD and Hours of Service records.
- Represent DHT professionally at terminals, customer locations, and on the road.

We're looking for professional Owner Operators ready to put their equipment to work with an established carrier, experienced dispatch, established customers, and specialized regional freight.

This is a regional propane and butane operation with weekly home time.
- Regional operation serving Fort Wayne, Indiana, and surrounding markets
- Operations throughout Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, and surrounding regional service areas
- Home every week
- Typical operating schedule of approximately 5 days on the road followed by 2 days home
- One weekend day availability required
- Consistent work during peak propane season

- Safely transport propane and butane (UN1075)
- Operate throughout Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, and surrounding regional service areas
- Load from propane supply terminals throughout the Midwest
- Deliver safely and professionally to DHT customers
- Safely operate pumps, hoses, valves, and tanker equipment
- Complete required pre-trip and post-trip inspections

- Valid Class A CDL

- 1-2 years of verifiable CDL-A driving experience preferred
- Safe driving record
- Ability to meet applicable DOT qualification requirements
- Ability to work safely outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to safely handle hoses, valves, pumping equipment, and required PPE
- Commitment to safe, professional operation
Experience hauling propane, butane, LPG, anhydrous ammonia, refined fuel, or other bulk liquid/gas commodities is strongly preferred.
Drivers with transferable tanker experience are encouraged to apply.
- DOT-compliant tractor
- Tractor must pass DHT equipment inspection before sign-on
- Electronic Logging Device (ELD) required
- Hydrapak/wet kit required to power trailer hydraulic offloading equipment
- Current registration and insurance
- Equipment must meet applicable DHT, DOT, and regulatory requirements
