Job summary

Roadmaster Drivers School, a Werner Enterprises company, seeks a CDL instructor to mentor students in safety skills and trucking best practices. You will demonstrate operations, supervise trainees, and deliver daily in-person instruction on pre-trip, basic control, and road driving.

Requirements include a CDL Class A license with minimal violations and 3+ years driving experience, DOT compliance, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL Class A license with no more than two moving violations in 12 months or three in 24 months
• Minimum 3 years over-the-road or local commercial driving experience or licensure prerequisites for instructor
• Must pass DOT physical, DOT drug test and hair follicle test, and consent to random/suspicion-based testing

Responsibilities

Driving records not complying with the foregoing will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.Must have a minimum of 3 years over the road or local commercial driving experience, and/or minimum criteria required to obtain instructor licensure within the applicable jurisdiction and meet all other licensure requirements.Must pass and continuously maintain a U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) physical which is issued in accordance with all regulations and recommendations of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, pass an approved DOT drug test and hair follicle drug test (HFT) and agree to random and suspicion-based drug and alcohol screening.Must have the ability to effectively communicate with others using verbal and non-verbal/written skills.
