Roadmaster Drivers School, a part of Werner Enterprises, is hiring a CDL instructor to mentor students by teaching safety skills and best practices of the trucking industry. This is a full-time, Monday–Friday position with benefits and opportunities for advancement.

The role requires a valid CDL Class A license, 3+ years of over-the-road or local driving experience, and ability to pass DOT physicals and drug tests.

• CDL Class A license required.
• Experience in training or mentoring drivers preferred.
• Ability to communicate clearly and lead effectively.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate driving operations to students regularly.
• Oversee safe operation of equipment and adherence to policy.

• Provide daily in-person instruction on Pre-Trip, Basic Control, and Road Driving.

Driving records not complying with the foregoing will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.Must have a minimum of 3 years over the road or local commercial driving experience, and/or minimum criteria required to obtain instructor licensure within the applicable jurisdiction and meet all other licensure requirements.Must pass and continuously maintain a U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) physical which is issued in accordance with all regulations and recommendations of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, pass an approved DOT drug test and hair follicle drug test (HFT) and agree to random and suspicion-based drug and alcohol screening.Must have the ability to effectively communicate with others using verbal and non-verbal/written skills. Must possess and demonstrate the physical, intellectual and leadership ability to deliver the company’s approved training and curriculum to students in the areas of classroom, full pre-trip inspection, basic control skills and road driving.Must successfully complete all required new hire onboarding and training in a timely manner, as well as continuing education as required by the company.We know benefits are critical and we are committed to offering comprehensive and affordable options for you and your loved ones.
