Qualifications

  • Valid Class A/B Commercial Driver’s License
  • Acceptable driving record per DOT and company standards
  • Experience operating heavy construction or railroad equipment
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work in all weather conditions
  • Willingness to travel and work variable schedules

Responsibilities

  • Operate heavy construction and maintenance equipment on railroad projects
  • Drive Class A CDL vehicles including tractor-trailers and lowboys
  • Drive Class B CDL Grapple Trucks to load material
  • Transport heavy equipment, materials, and supplies to and from job sites
  • Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections and maintain DOT-required logs
  • Secure and load equipment in compliance with DOT regulations
  • Assist crews with construction, maintenance, and mechanical tasks
  • Perform routine equipment checks and report maintenance issues
  • Follow FRA, DOT, OSHA, and company safety regulations
  • Maintain jobsite cleanliness and organization
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Job description

The CDL Operator performs equipment operation and field support duties while alsooperating Commercial vehicles to transport equipment, materials, and crews for railroad mechanical, maintenance, and E&C operations. This position requires advanced driving skills, equipment knowledge, anda high levelof safety compliance.

  • Physically demanding tasks in varying weather conditions
